A simple 3 star off-grid, budget resort on a remote island in the Mamanuca group, where all potable water has to be collected on island and waste water managed in an environmentally safe manner.
Due to difficult access, via open boat across a shallow reef, kit-set bures were designed to be pre-fabricated off-island and assembled in-situ. Three different designs were conceived, all using the same structural ply-brace wall system, to provide a variety of accommodation opportunities.
Consideration was given to maximising cooling local breezes, achieving privacy and enhancing spectacular views, on this modest budget.
